Temp. sending unit placement

Does anyone have a preferance where to mount the temp sending unit either head or manifold. Will there be a higher temperature reading if placed in the head?

In the head near the back is the best place to get the hottest reading.

I ran mine by the head and also have the temp at the manifold by the thermostat for the EFI and there is a difference between the 2 at high loads and the heat cycling. You can actually kind of calculate the flow of the coolant by the temp changes between the 2.
