      Corvette T56 questions

A local guy is selling a T56 setup out of 2004 Corvette Z06. Here is the list of stuff up for sale: T56 6-speed transmission, Getrag rear differential, torque tube, bellhousing, slave cylinder, clutch, flywheel, linkages and shifter (with boot and knob) all for $1800

I am looking at doing a manual swap on my 68 Camaro that currently has a power glide. Would it be as simple as getting rid of the getrag diff and putting a new tail housing on to get the trans to work in my car? How about the bellhousing, would that work or would I need to get something else?

Sorry if this is a stupid set of questions. I'm not really familiar with the corvette setup, so any help would be appreciated. Also not sure if that is a good deal or not, again not familiar with how much this stuff is worth.

Though the price may be attractive for all those parts, to modify a Corvette T56 to fit your Camaro would be expensive. The Corvette T56 has a unique output shaft and extension housing arrangement, not to mention some other subtle differences. You could shop around some of the local Corvette shops to see if anyone would be interested in a trade for a T56 that wouldn't require too much alteration to make it work in the Camaro.

Thanks for the info Jim, much appreciated. I also thought the price was attractive. I'll have to wait for another deal to come around then!
