Seats - for infrequent track use
I'm doing some work to the Pontiac to try and get the open car ready for some track time. I will never be the performer that many here have since it's a heavy vert, but it should still make for some enjoyment.
I'm building a removable rollover protection system that so far seems to comply with NASA and SCCA requirements for HPDE - though obviously not for wheel to wheel. That's not what this is about.
Currently I have the factory type GM stratobucket folding seats without headrest, which will obviously be a problem. I'll be solo, so I'd like to pick up a decent seat just for the events. For the kind of use I'm talking about, does anyone have any opinion about http://www.summitracing.com/parts/JZP-100-150-01/ ? I know it's not a Kirkey containment seat. I also know that there are other limitations. I'm not looking for the "best" here. I'm just looking to stay safe for HPDEs such as Motor State, RTTH, etc.
I'd appreciate any feedback.
'66 GTO Vert Project "Red Ink", 462ci of stroked pontiac power, TKO600, SC&C Stg II+, Tubular lowers, Currectrac Rear suspension, Moser 12bolt w/Truetrack, Wilwood Master and discs all around, too much fun for words...
