      Recognize this car??

Near Carrollton, TX. At first I thought it was a Factory Five Racing GTM, but the tail lights and exhaust ports are different. Sounded like an american block with a supercharger. Any guesses?

You are right. 5.4 engine with a supercharger. I had a chance to take one for a little beat. If I had $140k or so burning a hole in my pocket, I would pick one up. Not the handiest getting in and out when you are 6'3". I hit my head on the overhang of the door when I got out of it, not once but twice.

Prices are finally starting to drop on these cars. Chris (chr2002ca) pointed this out to me at a car meet. Now you only need 100k burning a hole in your pocket.

I'd love to pick one up some day, but don't think my irrational mind could ever justify it even if prices dropped further.

These things, along with the Gallardos, are doing very well in the Texas Mile and other mile events from what I've seen on other forums.

Matt -- really, down to near $100k??

Yeah, apparently you can't find one for that price anymore. Weird. I remember looking online after Chris told me because I didn't believe him. Maybe the higher mileage ones go for 100-115, I dunno...

I've honestly never seen one for less than $130k . They are almost always well taken care of and low mileage of course.

I highly doubt it's a real GT40, unless you really mean a Ford GT... and it looks like a matte vinyl wrap to me if I had to guess. Cheap and easily reversible, so no big deal.

Based on the low quality pics, I think it looks pretty bad ass myself.

Wonder if he saw a sale result or listing for a salvage car. They are still $120 ish wholesale.

Murdering out is the absence of taste and for people who don't have the balls to take a risk with a color combination.

That GT40 looks a million times worse than any of them on the road. I think this thread needs a little comparison to just point out how badly they ruined a beautiful car. I mean, the GT40 looks amazing in even the oddest colors. For example gulf racing colors. Blue and orange wouldn't work on any other car. Yet that flat black one looks like ****:

Sure, when you're building an old car and you spend money on engine/suspension parts and keep it with a flat black primer to save money(with the intent on one day making it look good)

Murdered out as a "style" is just plain retarded.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. Personally, I wouldn't want either color if it were my car....

Well, I "murdered" my 'Cuda out with flat OD Green and black wheels. My car really isn't "Show-Touring" so I figured it would be alright without shiny paint but I'll promptly change that because I recognize your authority on style!

All this time I figured my ability to wipe the street with a Porsche was enough for me to feel good about my ride.

I can think of a certain Camaro that looks killer in the Gulf colors. IMO, better than the GT's. Again, my opinion.
