      301 Motors Parts...

I have a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Esprit Redbird. It has the original 301 2bbl and T/H350. I'm thinking of restoring this to original condtion, but with a few improvments. I wanna keep the original 301 and just beef up the internals. I'm not looking for like 600hp or anything just maybe 275-300. I'm not gonna go with forged internals since its not getting forced induction or nitrous. Does anyone know of a company that sells bottom end kits for the 301? In my HPP mag Performance Automotive Warehouse shows a kit with the pistons, rings, pins, and bearings. But id like to get the connecting rods and crank too. I'm figuring of porting the heads a little, possibly milling the heads to bump the cr to around 9:1, Comp Cams pushrods and all, Comp Cams 1.65 magnum RR's, a Comp Cams cam:

      Lift W/ 1.5

Throwing my disc posi rear in with 3.73's, getting around a 2500stall, and beefing up the trans. What do you guys think of this combo... I know your gonna say throw the motor away, but im looking to keep this original... or atleast numbers matching. I'm also thinking of throwing a holley 500cfm 2bbl.

Try contacting this guy, he's got a site about what he's done to his turbo Bird.
