Skid plate?

hello everyone, finally joined after many months of drooling over so many awesome projects, so much information it's awesome!

Well I'm about to start my build and did search but didnt come up with much so my question is why are more people not running skid plates? I ask becuase I'm doing a restomod on a 69 firebird convertible (graduation present for my son) and although I have a really nice shape subframe I noticed they are easily bent when jacking from the subframe. I'm taking the subframe to powdercoat this week after I redrill for Gulstrand mod so I figured why not also reinforce that lower skid area..or am I just missing something? pictures ? ideas?

BTW..its gonna be ls1/4l60e combo. Thanks
