      G body ATS Spindle questions

With the new wheels and tires arriving in 4-6 weeks, I'm looking to bolt on a set of SC&C upper control arms, ATS spindles and Z06 brakes on the front of my Grand National. I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible and have access to a great deal on a set of ATS spindles for the 1st gen f-body along with a full set of Z06 brakes. Speedtech says the spindles are identical, but Mark at SC&C says that the ball joint taper is different and I believe him. Is it something that can be machined to work? I have full access to CNC machines so that wouldn't be a big deal. Do any of you guys know?

The "G" body spindle is identical..... EXCEPT for the balljoint taper. I would NOT suggest machining the tapers. we would gladly sell you replacement lowers tapers. they thread in and can be changed. they are difficult to remove due the the loctite. the ppers are a very tight press fit and i would suggest swapping the upper ball joints to a first gen Camaro ball joint rather than trying to machine or change the upper.
the other thing you will need for the G body is a set of steering arms. make sure the spindles you are getting ar the TALL ones as the short (original height) will not work on the G body.
send me some pics of the car when your done.

Why won't the short ATS spindles work on a G body? The original G body spindles are considered short spindles compared to the tall B body ones.

because the "SHORT" original first Gen F body is even shorter than the stock G body spindle.
