Running a 9" front wheel may limit your turning radius inward Matt...I'm thinking a 17x8 (4.75" b/s) with a 255/45 tire would fill the wheelwells up quite nicely...

Didn't the Hotchkis camaro run 17x9 1/2 & 11's with a stock front sub and the factory wheel wells. If I remember correctly the Spectre Performance camaro the lime green 2nd gen that was previously built by Cam from optima also is running a 17x9 1/2 you could check into to those and see what you come up with.

You can fit a 9 inch wheel no problem with the right backspacing, depending on how low your front it. The green car has a 9.5 and you can see where it ends up, if it was as low as my car it would come down on the fender. Like john said a 8 inch wheel with a 245 fits very nice and wont rub. You can easily fit a 17x10 on the back so a 9.5 is fine.
