      The Family '67 RS Build

I picked up this car last Christmas as a surprise for my wife. We have driven it just like it was for a year and now it's time for an update. I'm starting with brakes and suspension first. Going fom drums and monos to disc and Hotchkis should be like night and day.

      Hey DCPetty,

Great project. Thanks for choosing Hotchkis parts for your wife’s car. The Camaro should be very nice to drive with the updates you’ve chosen. Let us know how it goes. If you have questions or need help during the install, feel free to give our tech department a call. 877-735-6425

I am really terrible at posting updates. Here is a pic of the engine on the test stand being broken in and tuned. I have the car ALL apart and just got it back from the blaster. More to come later. . As the name implies , it is a true family project.

What happened to "I'm starting with the brakes and suspension"?! Haha.

What all are you doing to it? Cool to see your daughter getting in on the action.

Thanks. She is in my back pocket all of the time. My wife and son also help out a bunch.

.....isn't that how all frame off resto's start?? I currently have it ALL apart and it has been bead blasted. I am starting body work this week. I have already replaced the pans and trunk. I am painting the underside this afternoon.

I got the floor pans sealed and the bottom of the car painted today. I used Chassis Saver and it shot great. time will tell how durable it is.

This weekend got the firewall smoothed, installed a new upper dash panel, and primed firewall and dash. Now I'm on to the roof....it was a vinyl top car. Need I say more?!$&@

Here is an up to date pic. I'm REALLY not liking the ride height so far with the Hotchkis coils and springs. I know I have a ways to go on the car, I'm really hoping that it brings it closer to the ride height I want. I don't think it's going to get there.
