Console - To Paint Or Not To Paint ...

I'm using a 68/9 console in my 67 'Bird so I can use the AUtometer gauge pod. My car will be Dark Cloisonne Met, like the GTO below. The interior will also be the same color. Seats will be black with silver inserts. Center dash console will be a stock no cutout panel with gauges. Carpet black also. B&M Quick Silver shifter.

I can't decide what to do with the console. I've kicked around a few options. But was curious if others have painted thier console and how they did it. Here are some ideas I'm kicking around.

1 - Leave it the same black as it came in the box.

2 - Paint it a satin or glossy black.

3 - Paint it all the same color as the body/interior.

4 - Paint it like #2 but paint the "inside area" the same color as the body.

5 - Paint it like #2 but paint the gauge pod and filler panel for the shifter hole body color.

      I'm leaning towards #2 or #5.

      Any thoughts ???

I had a painted center console in my '70 Chevelle, which I drove a lot, and it got scratched to sh**. I ended up covering it with leather. Where are the pics.
