      power or manual

      I currently have stock disc/drum set up and purchased a large 4 wheel disc set up from wilwood. I am not sure if I should go manual or power. I am having a motor built with approx 600hp and will have limited vacuum. Does anyone have any suggestions??? I asked wilwood and they reccommended manual but I am concerned about having a large pdeal effort.

      Also has anyone ever used a vacuum pump to produce required vacuum?

      Depends on whether you want the brakes to feel like a minivan or a car...
      Manual, properly designed is great

      Manual baby!!

      Loved the manual breaks on my 69.. you feel more in-touch with what the car is doing.

      I love My Manual Wilwoods. They will tell you the best Manual MC for use with the components you have and vehicle weight, driving style, purpose, etc. I can out stop most vehicles on the road.

      Big cams make vacuum boosters unpredictable and vacuum pumps look ugly and take up room. Hydro boost is a good idea but I would be too worried about fluid level and how the system acts without pressure (I have had way too many experiences with leaking PS fluid from various places).

      Plain and simple I love the feeling of the manual. I think if I had power they would be too touchy. If you are converting from power to manual remember to use the other hole in your pedal to mount the pushrod.

      Nope, If I was going to go power it would be a hydroboost system.

      I like the clean looks of no PB and I was happy with the feel. If I needed power assist for any reason then the last thing I would use is a vacuum system.

      Maybe I need to drive a car with a hydroboost system to become a true convert :D
