oil pan questions

I've done the search. The f-body pan works with the right mounts sometimes. The CTSv doesn't seem to have anybody using it unless I've missed it. The H3 fits but sits low. If the H3 fits, why doesn't the 07 up truck one fit? Is it backwards or is there something else? Basically, I'm asking, if the truck one doesn't fit, is there another readily available pan that doesn't need to be notched that can be put in my 68 without setting it in a place that is going to screw with my steering or big booster? It would be too good to be true. If that isn't in the cards, what aftermarket pan does it all well and cheaply?
I just purchased an 06 vette ls2 and I'll see if they can switch the pans before they ship it out. If there is no drop in for me should I get a ls1 f-body pan and try to sell it to second gen guys?
