      PTFE/Teflon Fuel Hose

Can anybody recommend a good place to get PTFE/Teflon lined fuel hose. I found this place http://www.anfittingsdirect.com/inde...5160b00bcb8d44, but don't know if it is too good to be true. Are all teflon lined hosed created equal? I tried to get local quotes, but were in the area of $250-$300 for 3 lines not totally more than 3 feet combined.

I don't know if all ptfe hose is the same, but I got 1 ft with fittings crimped on of high pressure ptfe lined stainless hose that I think was equivalent of 8 or 10 an for $37 at

      http://alternativehose.com/Quote.html

I forgot to mention hose was intended for a high pressure water line and the fittings were stainless, looked similar to an but not the same.

What I replied to on the lateral site.

Those lines are just fine. I have used many ptfe lined hoses and never had a problem. I use them for gases and fluids of all types. All mine were made in the states so Im not sure if some import (read chinese) lines might have some issues, either with the plastic itself (bad chemistry) or physical issues (maybe too thin in spots).

There are some great newer lines out that are convoluted and can be bent in some pretty sharp turns VS the smooth bore lines.

I assemble my own lines and ends with re-usable swivel ends.

With ptfe core you will be using steel ends VS aluminum ends for rubber core. The aluminum ends are usually defined as AN type fittings. Type meaning they have similar dimensions to AN fittings but not all of them are AN certified.

But we are flying cars here not aircraft so we dont really need AN certs.

The steel ends for ptfe core lines are commonly available as JIC (joint industry council) fittings. Its another spec, just as AN (Army and Navy) has a spec.

You wont go wrong with a decent JIC end, as long as you keep with the standard and assemble the end correctly. No reason you couldnt make up your own hoses with reusable JIC fittings.

Oh, and when going from hard JIC to AN fittings there isnt an issue because they use the same flare angle. JR

Check with a local Hydraulic repair shop. They fabricate hydraulic hoses for trucks and construction equipment.

Does anyone know where you can find the Black PTFE hose? All the sites show steel braided hose.

aeroquip.cc is a huge bulk on-line store for ptfe hose. You can get the racing or the industrial hose. The S-TW hose specs out the same as the racing hose for about 1/3 of the price.

I ordered from an fitting direct and it was bad.
None of there fittings fit the hoses
I sent both back and they sent me a new set of an 06 fitting and hoses
The didn't fit each other either.
Ended up getting Parker hose and fitting and they fit perfectly

I know this is an old thread but I ordered my lines and fittings from an direct and had no problems assembling them. I watched Summit's youtube video on how they go together and did it. I used wd40 on the hose to lubricate the fitting so I could pull it up to the sleeve. I also trimmed back the outer rubber layer as it was too thick

One thing to remember: make sure the PTFE liner is black, not white. Black PTFE means that it has carbon in it so that static voltage doesn't build up and discharge. Sparks and gasoline are a dangerous mix.

Both Goodridge and XRP make high quality stuff with attractive outer covers and hose ends.
