Fix the vats in the computer, (the Vehicle Anti Theft System programing) it needs to be tuned out, happens a lot, most of the computers are set to a certain key fob and the Vats cut the system off when it doesn't find the match key code, anyways your tuner can do it for you, it should come as a history immature code when you plug in your HP tuner

I spoke to the programmer he said the vats was removed.... He thinks is might be a bad MAF... or it could be a power issuse.....

Unplug the maf and it wont use the signal as a reference for incoming airflow it will read off the preset table as it thinks the maf FAILED, are you using the factory airbox / maf location , if not youll need to have the maf curve recalibrated

If the VATS was removed then I'm going to guess you do not have the right power source to the ECM. Sounds like it only has 12 volts when you are cranking.

Agree with Don. Verify that power to the ECM and coil wiring is on when the key is in IGN position.

Like folks have mentioned, it is either the VATS or power to the ECM when the key is in the run position.

But you mention a 1998 Camaro intake, harness and ECU with a Corvette long block, so I have a potentially stupid question. Are you running a drive by wire TB or a drive by cable TB?? Since you say a Camaro ECU, it should be a drive by cable. But if it is a 98 Corvette ECU and drive by wire there is one other thing it could be in the VATS besides just turing off the normal switch.

I had a car that was converted to SD and had VATS turned off. It still didn't run. It did exactly the same thing your car did. We put a truck program in as the base program instead of the Fbody tune and it fired right up and worked fine. VATS can be a bitch even when "turned off".

It was a bad MAF.... I unhooked it and the car started right up... Ran fine. Thanks for all of the input
