What should Santa bring me for Xmas?

My wife and I typically don't buy xmas presents for one another. So, I usually justify a large purchase for myself and call it my present from Santa. Sometimes I just can't wait and purchase it during the year....and remind myself during xmas that I've treated myself already.

Now this year, I know times are tuff...but I still feel the need to buy myself something. The problems is I want a few things that are out of the normal self gift price range....and the guilt of making a big purchase is weighing heavy on me. My wife will tell you I have come home with a new welder in the past, but I said it was a buisness equipment purchase.

Can you help me make to the right choice?

Would love to buy a new JD2 tube bender and call it a buisness purchase. After all Im just about to start a roll cage for Tuskys427 67 Pontiac 400.

Or be a little more selfish and purchase the set of V710 race slicks I want as a second set of tires....just for fun and potentially way out of line with my wife.

How about the GoPro so I can document the fun Im currently having on my regular tires.

Or just another reason for buisness...print up some of my T-shirt designs.

Chill,,,,, and not spend any money...and focus on our house project that I need to finish.


I know this may seem foolish to ask an opinion on something so pitty as spending money on myself, but sometime I feel obsessed with car stuff...and I'll find any reason to purchase something I want. Is anyone else in the same boat...should I just cool my jets and take a step back. Or should I pull the trigger as usual?

I just bought my christmas present from Santa. Double adjustable coilovers. I needed these to finish my rear suspension.

So I would buy what you need first. My car is a hobby (not my business which your's may be), to enjoy my hobby I have to make sure my wife can enjoy her stuff too. I would not spend more than you could afford.

I also invest a lot in the stock market. So if the market is good I try to spend less and put more money in the market and take it out later after i have made 20% or whatever. Then it is more like guilt free spending.

You should buy your wife something nice and earn extra credit... so when you buy the next big thing she is more lenient on you… you can claim Christmas for 2 years.. lol
This is my plan… early next year I am dropping several $$$$$ on my ride… I am claiming my b-day, valentine and about 4 Christmas’.

Just buy yourself something. Anything. Go on craigslist if you have to. I'm sure you earned a gift to yourself. And dont forget your better half.
