      Scams

I got a check today for $4500 for my TTII's so I called the bank it was drawn on, the lady told me to check the zip code in their address, which for some odd reason it has 6 numbers in the zip code, she said we are a local bank in WI only, and the check was fake, I figured it would be a scam when the person contacted me origanally, so I repied back" I recieved the check and I'm ready for there shipper" I got an "imediate" response to send half the money through Western Union to 2 guys in Nigera, and to do TODAY so we can get the trans action in complete, ya right!!! I've read of all the scams, but are these people stupid enough to think I'm going to my bank and send thousand of dollars to 2 !@#$'% in Nigera, I was going to e-mail them and say when the check clears I send the money. but I think I'll wait, what do you guys think, The Bank says I should contact the authorities, and gee for some reason there's no return address on the envelope,

Racently I've heard of a lot of scams. My friend mike found a 67 shelby GT500 at a great price a guy was trying to sell from Italy. He wanted Mike to Western Union half of the money and then he would ship the car. Well Mike offered to fly there view the car and handle shipping it back himself. He never heard back from the seller.
Moral: if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Definitely contact authorities and give them copies of them emails. It is a federal offense and carries stiff jail time when they catch them. You have hard evidence in hand.

<--- Mr. Scam guy.. Ive seen them all.. I think.. lol

Guy saw my car online.. tells me he wants to buy it.. wants my bank info so he can wire the money..

No questions about the car.. he says he is local but doesn't ask to inspect the car before sending the money.. Doesn't even call me. I am supposed to believe he is going to wire me over $60k without wanting more info about who I am or about the car???

I figure if he is that trusting then he is the crook.. Oh, the stories I could tell.. Funny thing is that they always want to wire trasfer but if I give them my routing and account number they can't do much with it.. even if they found a way to use this info to clean out my account I wouldn't be liable. Besides you give you routing and account info out every time you write a check, not like it is secret info. Any finance guys out there know how they would use this to thier advantage?

I am thinking about setting up a dummy checking accout.. Get a free one.. It is sad that I really don't trust anyone :(

Many of our species truly do suck.......

It's actually pretty easy at the moment. I read this article the other day on MSNBC that had some lady in Georgia using a non-profits checking account to to cash in and then send the money to Nigeria.

That is what the bank said.. however you are FDIC insured so you won't loose out... like I said, it is not like routing number and account number are super secret.

Next time I sell a car I am going to open a specific account with like $100 in it.. :icon996:

What's funny is how pathetic they are.. "send the money to Nigeria..." --- yea right..

"I want to buy your car and send you tens of thousands of dollars even though I have not looked at the car or even talked to you on the phone.. "

"I have a $60k car for sale but you can buy it for $7000.. no really.. it is priced to MOVE!!"

The sad part is that someone must be falling for this since they keep doing it.. it is also sad that they prey on people greed and the desire for the easy buck..

I think the idiots that really believe that someone selling a car is uninformed and DO NOT know the value of their car, but the seller knows about ebay, those guy's that believe that and think they are getting a steal from someone sleeping, deserve to get screwed!

If he sent you an E-mail, it can be traced. Pick up the phone and call the cops.
