      1969 Camaro Slow Ride

Hello All, I have started a 1969 Camaro restoration. I will be adding More pictures as work progresses. I have a wife 2 kids and 2 horses. That is why I have named it Slow Ride, Money always goes to other things. I'm planing to use DSE's front sub frame and quadra link rear. I have a 2009 LY6 engine out of a Chevy 3/4 ton truck. If you have not heard of this engine, it is a great starter engine. It has variable valve timing, and LS3 heads L92's. I have contacted mast motor sports and they have a cam package and tune that will make it 480 hp. I would love more but it is a starting point with my budget. Thanks for looking in from time to time.

Not to poach, but I have a Comp Cams VVT cam that I picked up as I was thinking about going with an LY6. My plans have changed, so I am selling it. Just thought I would throw that out there. You can PM me if you like. Sounds like a great project with a nice list of parts. Keep us posted.

Should be nice. I think 480HP would be plenty for a street car with an occasional trip to the autocross or drag strip. I think most of the projects on here are of the "slow" variety.

I plan on ordering a new firewall panel. Has anyone ordered one from classic industries and if so how did it fit. If I can order a better one let me know who to order one from.

I'm also thinking of color idea's. What do you think of a dark metallic blue and metallic copper two tone copper on top and blue below body line/ top of fender. Or sunburst orange with sun bright silver Z/28 stripes. If you have seen blue and copper together, I would love to see a picture.

I tried to talk the wife and kids out of getting horses. did spread sheets to show how much they cost. But I gave in to their dreams of having horses. It has been fun and we spend a lot of time together with them. I could have bought my sub-frame with the money we spent on horses in the last 4 months. Someday it will happen, selling my 08 GMC HD to get extra money for the camaro. i will buy something old and cheap.
