      64 corvette build

Size: 846.1 KBhey guys, just thought I would show you the build I'm starting. I have a 64 corvette with a 327 and 4 speed. I drove the car last summer and it worked ok. Then I drove my friend's 07 LS2 corvette and wow, what a car! That's when I decided to put that driveline in the 64! I got a lot of ideas from your site and it has been a huge help in the build! The Plan is to use most of the stock suspension, add rack and pinioin, use the mono leaf on the rear. The motor will be a 6.0 litre with the Edelbrock cam and MSD box to convert it to carberator. Wheels will be ZO6 style. Tranny will be a T56 magnumName: iphone pics 712.JPG

      corvette frame

Blasted the frame and painted it with epoxy and then chassis paint. Nice hard finish. Now to fit the 6.0! I measured the 327 and will install the engine in the same place keeping it low in the engine compartment so I don't have to cut the hood.

Ive got the new wheels (275/35/18) didnt want to go too wide as clearance is minimal on these cars. I built my own engine mounts and found I had to remove and tap the heater hose outlets to clear the upper a-arm. I decided to go with a march pulley system on the front and may have to notch the front frame.

      64 vette body work

Working on the body, had to build up the quarters and fenders, then we flipped the car over to get under the fenders and quarters

      13" brakes for the corvette

Finally decided on brakes for the 64 vette. Ordered a set from CPP and installed on the weekend. I had to do a lot of shimming anbd modifing but they fit great and look nice. Should help getting this car stopped!

The back brakes were the hardest to fit because of the trailing arm. I had to get the calipers in just the right spot so they wouldn't hit when the suspension traveled.

I like it better with the fender flares, but should be nice, overall, when it's done, anyway!

Thanks for sharing; keep us posted!

From what I can see it looks great! However, some of the pictures work, and some dont.
