      How Thick are Stock Axle Tubes

      Just like the title says. How thick are the axle tubes on a stock 12 bolt car rear end? I need to weld some brackets to mine and I want to get some scrap steal and make a few practice welds first.

      I was thinking more like 3/16"....but I could be wrong, I haven't actually measured the thickness with anything precise.

      1/4" = .250"
      3/16" = .1875"
      middle = .21875" or .219" (7/32")
