      modify your own tank?

Spectra takes a stock tank and modifies it with a compatible sending unit and a pump and cup from another vehicle. It costs around $500 but if you have your own decent tank what about modifying your own tank with a retrofit kit? Won't be doing it myself but it may be the answer for someone not wanting to corner too hard?

I have the tanks inc. setup... don't like it. It has a cork gasket that leaks when full, and the whole car smells like gas for the first 100 miles of any trip. If there was a way to seal it better, I wouldn't have too much to complain about (other than the 2x I had to drop the tank to re-attach the hose between the pump and the elbow, and the fact I had to dent the trunk floor to make it fit)

I'll be upgrading to a Rick's tank as soon as I can afford it.

Yes, you can modify your tank. Do a search in this forum and at ls1tech.com

I'm not going in that direction, I just put it out there as anlternative for others since I hadn't seen it here.

I went the low buck but effective route. Took a BRAND NEW stock tank and welded in a baffled road race style Aeromotive sump. It has AN-10 inlet and outlets.
