      injector size

What size injectors do you guys recomm on a LS1 pushing 425 RWHP? Looking into some dirty word (Ford) injectors for my enigne thinking some where around 34 or 36 for it. If anymore info is needed to figure out injector size please feel free to ask. Brandon

I have done several LS6 powered C5 Z06 Vettes (2001-2004) making 440-450 RWHP on stock injectors as long as the fuel pump is good and holds 60 PSI.

You can also use the GM 38lb injectors from a 3.8 supercharged Buick or Pontiac or the Ford SVO 30lber's.

Now if you think you may go for more HP down the road, jumping to a set of 42lb SVO green tops will work fine also.

      Hope this helps.

nothing wrong with SVO injectors. Until the LS1 came out, Ford had better fuel injectors.

I second Mike's thoughts on injector size. You shouldn't need more than 30s at most but 36s or 42s for the future aren't a bad idea either. Have whoever tunes it keep an eye on the injector pulse width and monitor the O2 with a wide band. This will tell you for sure if your injectors are good or not. It may also show you any other potential problem you may have with the fuel system.

Stock should be fine, depending on the year and assuming unboosted. IIRC it was the 2001 and up LS1s that came with a slightly higer flow rate (same flow as LS6s). As said before confirm you have correct fuel pressure and enough pump. If you find that changing the duty cycle of the injector is not affecting the a/f at high rpm/wot then you're running out of pump.

If you want to leave some room to grow on the table, go with the BOP 3800 supercharged injectors. Even with boost, they will support well over 500hp at the crank.

Green tops are peak and hold injectors and should not be used with a saturated driver.
