      G-Body Autocross Video

Here is our GNS Test Car at the RTTH6 event here in Pigeon Forge,TN this past weekend. We just got done doing a Full DSE Front & Rear suspension on it on Wedsday an went to the event on Friday throwing it around. The car done exceptionally well and it handles 100x better than it did before. The car actually stays flat now and keeps all tires planted..

This video is of my second pass which had a time of 1:17 but my last pass was much better cause I got more aggressive and was able to shave the time down to a 1:15.2... I'm sure with more laps I would have been able to get it down into the 1:12 - 1:13 range.

In the end I placed 30th out of 79 cars so that's not too bad considering it was only my second time on a Auto-x.

      Woooohooo!

Just curious, how did you do before the DSE components? Assuming you tried some time prior to installing the shiny new bits.

Nice ride Scott, it sure looks low-slung now. Nice stance.
I could hear your blow-off valves puffing, so you must have been having fun.
Does your car have the stock auto tranny? was it in 1st or drive? hard to tell from the video sound at times.

I'd love to see some on-board cam action, I bet you were going much faster than it seems from accross the parking lot. on that long straight you were moving! The car looked table-flat in the turns,(but still compliant) Congrats!

We didn't bother with time comparisons before for the simple fact that all courses are layed out different, but one thing is for sure There is a HUGE difference in how it handles..

      Thanks for the compliment Dave!

Those weren't blow off valves, That sound is from the turbo/boost bouncing off the throttle body blade after it closes! Neat sound no less...

It has a built 2004r Auto trans and it was kept in [D] on the straightaway and after the first turn I went down to [2nd] for the rest of the course..

I'm not sure of the size on that one but just to let you know, The DSE front frame braces mount to the stock locations where some originally had them from the factory.

One easy way to test and see if they will fit is to take a stock brace and hold it up to see if it hits the side of the I/C. Another way is to just take a tape measure and go from one of the 2 holes in the center of the crossmember to the stock mounting hole on the front frame.

I just went and measured the opening between the braces and it's 17" across.

I'd say yours looked pretty good going around the cones Scott. Most G-bodies I've seen look downright painful trying to navigate cones, but yours looked pretty nailed down.
