NEED HELP!! 65 Galaxie 427 R code, 4 speed value?

I got a chance to pick up a 65 Galaxie with a 427 R code duel carb motor, with 4 speed. Car is unrestored but recently painted, no rust and is a driver as is.

      Any ideas ?

If it is an original car, that is one rare Ford. I would restore it back to OEM, no way would it get modified from original.

Thats the same thing I have found. Been trying to find a Galaxie forum or something for the last two days. Need to know what to look for to see if it real. From what I found on the net all the correct pieces are there even the specific emblems are on the car, which are something not repoped. Little scared to get into for to much as I know nothing about Fords

Well, not that I know too much about them, but the engine's the wrong colour for a 65...believe they should be black not blue.
If its a real 427, you should be able to spot the cross bolted mains...

Of course, could also be a NASCAR 406 block (also cross bolted)....but those are super rare and worth even more than a 427 block.
      Really cool car.

Work firewall has photos blocked. Any chance the rocker covers say SOHC?

Work firewall is really hamstringing my discretionary use of time. From memory, I'll wager the following values.

      427 side oiler $$$ $35-60k
      427 SOHC cammer $$$$$$$$$ $60k+

Wow, that's cool. Check over at FordMuscle.com, they have a good Galaxie forum.
