Mounting the body question

I admit this might seem like a dumb question
My car has a full frame and the body is mounted on rubber mounts. If I was to pro-tour it with a new frame would one still mount it the same method or weld the frame into the body solid with out riggers creating a much stiffer unit...I think I answered my own question but I have seen both used and wonder which was best. My floor is gone already so that might suggest the latter.

You're going to get different opinions on this. This is essentially the same debate as the one concerning rubber vs poly vs solid bushings on cars. There are those who will insist that there is no down side to solid bushings and that anybody who says otherwise has never used them. Then there others who have actually used them and have seen both advantages AND disadvantages.

The bottom line is that there is no single correct answer here. Solid mounting like you mention will almost certainly at least slightly increase steering feel in some circumstances. It will also (depending on the car) most likely increase the potential of body/paint damage in some circumstances. Trust me. I know for a fact that solid bushings result in more BODY flex as the frame flexes. There are people who disagree but I've personally seen it with my own two eyes.

It's all a matter of what you want. If it's an all out track car, solid mounting is certainly what I'd do. If you putting a lot of effort into how straight the car is, body and paint? Well, I wouldn't do it myself but that part is an opinion. Your choice.
