TCI 4 Link Rear Suspension Questions

I bought the suspension about 1 year ago. I sent the car to a suspension shop near by but they told me they could not install the kit due to to much drilling and welding involved with installing this kit. They are not familiar with this kit or any aftermarket kit so they were not willing to do the job. My question is, because I was told that this kit was a bolt on kit, is it a hard install? Does it take drilling and welding? Below is a link to the kit I bought. I have everything but the rear end and the disc brakes. Is this a good rear suspension kit? Thanks in advance guys.

Looks like the kit is designed to bolt through the floor with a lot of small bolts. Doesn't seem like a huge problem if there are good layout instructions included. I'm personally not jet-hot about the diagonal track locator link for handling use, but I'd give it a shot...

Thanks for the info. I was looking for a bolt on kit. Guess my understanding of what I was getting myself into wasnt up to par smh. It was supposed to be a job that even I (a novice) could do. Doesnt seem like a job for me. Hopefully I can find a shop to do the install and wont charge me for 12 hours at $95 per. Or i am screwed smh

      TCI 4 link install

I installed mine in on a weeked. It very easy to install the instructions were good. There are some factory holes that help line it up properly. P.S. make sure you have good drill bits and some pare ones.

Thanks for the reply Bad. I dont see the pics sir. But your reply just made me a little more confident. Mines didnt come with instructions. Can you send me a link to the instructions? Im a super novice so im unsure of doing it myself but hopefully a local shop can help me. 1 weekend of work? wow thats fast. How does the car ride now? Is it a good rear suspension kit?

The kit is now available with either a track locater bar(pictured above) or a panhard bar at no extra cost. The track bar is certainly easier to install since it just bolts in place whereas the panhard bar requires welding and holes to be drilled.

Here is a copy of the install manual. http://www.totalcostinvolved.com/ass...ear_4-Link.pdf

Thanks! But I bought the kit some time ago and I dont know which one it is as far as the track locator bar or panhard bar is concerned. The one above is what I have but its the basic kit. Didnt add anything to the kit either. The manual will help a lot. You guys are great. Thanks again.

More than likely you have a track bar. If you plan on autocrossing the car the panhard bar will be better suited. If you'd like to exchange them there is no charge for the parts, just freight.

Here is what the panhard bar will look like.

Coilover crossmember needs to be drilled to mount the bracket
