      2011 GT500 Suspension Walkaround

Hey guys, here is a decent article on the suspension of the 2011 Shelby GT500. The fact that it is championing a stick axle makes it a rather close relative to all of our cars. Granted, every Mustang writeup I've read lately pretends that this is the first solid axle car that handles well; and we here at pro-touring.com know for a fact that is just not the case. But it's great to see older technology raising eyebrows... that's what this Mustang is all about, and that's what we're all about.

I wonder why Ford ever got rid of the IRS off of the Cobra, I thought that was a great idea!! they should still make that rear end an option...

Simple...their marketing surveys showed only a small fraction of buyers were interested in that more costly option.
Most drag raced their cars and were more than happy with the straight axle.

Reading this article made me realize how much attention I pay to The newer F body suspension set up's. Absolutely none.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention, you are absolutely right, our cars straight axle set up's are still worthy.

The only time an IRS will shine above the live axle is when the pavement is rough. On smooth ground the live axle works just fine.
