      Need Help please

I would like to know if i will be able to use a 2007 Ford T-56 (six speed) in my 72 GTO with a Pontiac 400. What will it take to make this work, Is it even possible to do or cost efficient. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

It's going to take the right bellhousing or a new input shaft. Fords have a longer input shaft than GM. I think they use a 28 spline output as well. there are other differences in the tail housing and speedo, but that shouldn't matter if you are fabricating your cross member.

One option may be to use a GM adapter on the Ford face plate and bolt it to your GM bell housing. A 1/2 inch think adapter may make up the difference in input shaft lengths. You will still need a special pilot bearing and a Ford clutch disk to mate it to your GM flywheel and crank. The correct pilot bearing may be the hardest part. What do the experts think?
