go to napa and get a block tester. its a blue fluid and you use a black ball to suck air into the fluid. if it turns yellow then you have exhaust gases in the coolant.

Well pulled all the plugs they all looked okay/clean the number 6 plug was different, so I decided to go ahead a run a compression/cylinder check on all of them. I started with the #6 since its was different. Well it immediatley started pushing my radiator fluid out the top of the radiator. So I confirmed what I was delaying. So I quess I will start teart the top down to replace the head gasket. I quess I should also have some check the heads while they are out, and maybe have them port matched to my intake.

That sucks but at least you know what the problem is now. Good luck with the repairs.

I know this is an old thread but I was having a similar issue. a couple years ago I went to fire it up after winter and white smoke, it went away after the engine was warm. I pulled the heads to be sure as I can not afford to build another HP motor. put her all back together and she ran the strongest ever. Parked it for the winter again and when I went to change the oil in the spring there was coolant in the oil pan completely separated from the oil! Good thing I never started it.

After some tests I narrowed it down to cyl #6, pulled the head again and nothing was obvious! Had the head pressure tested to find pin holes in the head surface so it was seeping though them into the cyl.

So if not already done and back together I recommend a pressure test on the heads.

I am shipping my heads off this week to see if they will replace them for me as It had nothing to do with anything I did! Lets hope their cust service is up to par, they so far have been good and say they will look at them and make a decision on if they will replace or fix them if anything.

      Fingers are crossed!!

On a BBC I built a while back I was getting water in the motor and oil in the radiator. Had a hard time trying to figure it out. Finally took the motor apart and a lifter bore was cracked. When the motor was running the oil was getting pushed into the radiator, turned off the motor so no oil pressure, the pressure in the radiator was pushing water into the block.
