      350 Power combo

I have a basically stock crate 350 that I'm looking into mildly upgrading performance, and I was looking for some advice. I would like to do the Edelbrock Performer RPM top end since I already have the intake manifold and Carb. The heads are the center bolt valve cover type which I assume makes it a post '86 generation sb. Can I use the 86 an older type heads, or do I need a set specifically for the newer engines? I believe that 86 and newer also have hyd roller cams. Is this correct? Thanks for the help.
