1969 Firebird convertible windshield frame rust

I have a 1969 Firebird convertible and just pulled all the trim and the windshield to refinish the metal underneath. In the process I have found a lot of hidden rust under ther top the windshield. I understand this is common, but have had difficulty in locating a replacement panel. I need the w shaped panel that bridges the top of the winshield and wraps under. It is a seperate piece of metal from the winshield frame. It is steel though and not the trim. I have found the entire windshield frame and upper firewall for 1,000, and YO sells a roof bracing kit. The YO kit looks to have the piece, but is in a hardtop kit for 225 or so.

Anybody know if this piece is the same on convertibles and hardtops and who makes or sells it? I couldn't find it on Goodmark or Ames.

      Thanks!

You talking about the channel that the windshield sits in?

I don't understand. You do not need the windshield frame, but a piece mounted on it? Once the trim is removed, the only thing you are left with is a frame. They are different than a coupe. There is an extra brace under the windhsield and dash, plus the frame itself. I'm pretty sure that the 67-9 converibles are the same.
