Kind of upset I didn't get to make it up this year. I've never been before but I heard it was pretty nice. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for posting the lnk to the pics Jake. I expected just a walk down memory lane by the title "Tri Power Nats" but with cars like Code Red there I guess they let any Pontiacs in?

Yep it's an all pontiac show and there is anything pontiac there. There's a big gathering of Firehawks there it's one of there big shows(seen a firehawk G8).The show is a swap meet, show and drag races,it's a good show.

Code Red is a sweet ride,I saw it a the GG's show in Columbus but that show was just crazy.I chatted with Bob the owner over the weekend and He was super nice and down to earth and is very pleased with how it turned out.

You should have stopped over and said hello when you were near my car!

Did you see the really nice black '68 GTO that showed up on Sunday? There were are lot of really nice PT mods on the car. I never did find out who owned the car or I would have talked to them.

The silver/grey '65 vert (took 3rd place in my class - custom) turned out to be a car the the owner won in a raffle. It's got a similar drivetrain to mine (about 600hp, TREMEC TKO) but the owner only has 1 leg, so her husband has to drive it. Her mother was at their car on Saturday and I talked to her. Seemed like nice folks.

Right next to Code Red there was a really cool brown '60 Bonneville that the owner had hand fabricated into a sort of El Camino build. Truly excellent work, though it isn't pro-touring.
'66 GTO Vert Project "Red Ink", 462ci of stroked pontiac power, TKO600, SC&C Stg II+, Tubular lowers, Currectrac Rear suspension, Moser 12bolt w/Truetrack, Wilwood Master and discs all around, too much fun for words...

I was actually talking to Bob the owner of Code Red when you walked up and we started talking about the GG show,I was in the white cut-off tee..haha we started talking about GG's and didn't get a chance to really introduce myself.

I also talked to the people that owned the give away car. My buddy and I thought they kinda acted like they had built the car till the end of our conversation.

John, if it's Pontiac, they accept it at his show/race. I've been a couple of times but didn't make it this year. I'm thinking about taking my car back next year but I probably won't show or race. I may pay for racing just to hang with my drag racing buddies over there on the pit side. If you're interested in joining a caravan of cars driving up that way from Arkansas, let me know.

OK, I think I remember - Saturday around lunch or so, right? We started talking about "Scar" and the Vette IIRC... (as well as some of the perceived politics at GG?)

I actually talked to the mom of the owner of the grey '65 first before the owner and husband were there, and she came out with the story. She was quite nice. I'd guess maybe since I already had found out that they won the car they didn't try to pretend they built it. Interesting.

Bob with Code Red was a nice guy. Don't know if you saw the pics of the 1st gen Camaro he's also got that he's currently trying to sell.

BTW, do you know if Bob won his class? He was in the C-2 class. I stuck around for most of the results but left after my class (C-1, Custom 1909-1969) was awarded since a guy with me needed to get home (4hr drive). I hated to be rude to grab a trophy and leave before it was done but my buddy was getting pretty antsy.

Yep that was me, can't remember what time it was we were only there on Sat. So I have no cule if Bob was his class? I would think he should have.

Critter, I don't think you would have to pay for racing to go to the pit side to hang out. We were over on that side for quite a while to get the lb of ice cream for a buck and watched some racing from that side of the track as well

Jake, I'll be taking my car over there. You have to have a wrist band indicating you are racing to drive in over there and park. That's what I'll do. We have a regular bunch who meet up to race but I'm about tired of drag racing, thus me hanging out over here. I'm trying to build a comfortable but powerful street cruiser with the ability to corner well.

Here's another small batch. The weather was great!

The last pics are that Bonneville "El Poncho" I mentioned earlier. So it's not Pro-Touring. But, the body work, fabrication and paint were excellent - even down to making his own reveal moldings, etc. You really have to respect the craftsmanship of that build.
