2e question can the torque arm be customized culling a circel out weld a pipe ring in to make it fit for a X pipe and stil keep structural integrety??

3e question what is the weight diferense compeard with a lets say dse lowering leaf spring set up with ofset shakels koni shocks and comp enegeering slide alink traction bars!!.'

4E question im looking fore very firm more like a harsh ride as we are going to race it 70% and drive it on the regular authobhan for 30%

I am curious about running 3" exhaust piping through all that tubing. I e-mailed Lee to find out about that. I am happy that they are local for me. I wish they made a 4 bar suspension rather then the T/A style. It doesn't look like there's much room for some big ole pipes.

Sorry you were not able to get any response from us. I see your PM that came across yesterday but who was the email sent too? I need to find out why you never received a response.

1 - "how do you cope with the difrent brands of engines and there difrened lenghts!! and the diferend transmissions you ""could have".

We are days away from uploading an entirely new website and a lot of the current images on this site are not up to date. Originally the torque arm kits had the torque arm mount on the transmission crossmember. We built multiple crossmembers for each transmission. This became a nightmare because there are so many motor positions, engine options, and transmissions. We have since relocated the front torque arm mount to a custom crossmember that mounts to the rear body mount area of the subframe. This allows the user to use whatever engine/transmission he wants without torque arm interference or non-compatability issues.

There more pictures of this style mount installed on a car HERE.

2 - "can the torque arm be customized culling a circel out weld a pipe ring in to make it fit for a X pipe and stil keep structural integrety??"

As long as the modification was done somewhere within the front 12 inches of the torque arm and then boxed in I don't see that there would be a problem structurally. The machined insert for the telescoping front slider goes into the torque arm approximately 6" so the modification would need to be somewhere in the next 6" or so. Additionally, I would not relieve the torque arm tube more that 1.5" if at all possible. I am just not sure if 1.5" is enough to gain you adequate clearance for a crossover pipe.

3 - "wat is the weight diferense compeard with a lets say dse lowering leaf spring set up with ofset shakels koni shocks and comp enegeering slide alink traction bars!!"

I just did an installation in a 69 Camaro that had factory multi-leafs and Comp Engineering Slide-a-link bars. I did not do any weight comparisons so this is just an estimated answer but i would say the weight of the leafs themselves would offset the weight of the torque arm, torque arm mount, and crossmember. I was surprised at how much the Slide-a-link bars weighed and I would bet they easily weigh what the shock crossmember and Watts link assembly weighs. This only leaves the control arms and coil-overs so I would say the torque arm kit would only add a few pounds if any.

4 - "m looking fore very firm more like a harsh ride as we are going to race it 70% and drive it on the regular authobhan for 30%
car wil be a Fia aprooved race car probely GT3 class so we like to know what kind of chooice we have about the coil over / spring presure"

We typically setup the kit with 220 lb/in springs but in your case where this is a 70% race / 30% street driven car, we may do 250 # springs. With your fuel tnak mounted in front of the axle, the weight is more centrally loaded so it's going to be tough to choose which weight without scaling the car. The coil-overs we use take a standard 9" long, 2.5" diameter spring so you will have plenty of options.

Hope this was helpful in making your decisions and please feel free to email, post, or PM other questions.

I have done two separate cars with 2.5" dual exhaust and there was plenty of room for suspension travel. It would be tight but I am pretty sure you could get 3" exhaust through there as well.

Hey Brett, I sent Lee an email but I'll ask you as well. Are you guys going to be making any type of 4 bar suspension in the near future? I love your products as I have used them on my 96 Camaro SS. I like the room of the 4 bar and would like to see you guy make something like it as well. I like the fact that you guys are semi local too.

Would subframe connectors work with this or would they even be needed?

Bij the way looking at the new crossover voor de torque arm, It seems there ""could"" be just enoughf room for the X pipe inbetween the headers and the torque arm!!.If there are no long tube headers being used and uesing a manual trans mission
this would meen no modification needed..

Yes IMHO, I think SFCs are still required to tie in the spring pockets(now being used as lower bar mounts) to the front subframe.

This chassis as well as any of the "front-only" subframe cars really need subframe connectors. While this kit really brings the car up to modern day handling capabilities and beyond, it IS only suspension and there are no chassis reinforcements in the kit. In other words, it does not address the lack of rigidity in the chassis and we still recommend subframe connectors if you don't already have them.

That being said we engineered the kit to work with a wide variety of subframe connectors so you don't necesarrily have to use ours. If, however you are in the market for subframe connectors we offer both a bolt-in design and a "through-the-floor" design. Those can be viewed HERE.
