Looks to be a little on the lean side to me. Maybe they need to step up the jets in the carburetor one or two sizes.

do the headers glow while racing? that is amazing. i want my car to run best with glowing headers and flames shooting!!!!!!

Please don't. If your headers are glowing, imagine the extreme heat that your pistons are experiencing. If your headers are glowing, shut the thing off as fast as possible and figure out why. Extreme lean condition, severe vacuum leak (resulting inn extreme lean condition).
Don't ask me why these guys don't mind glowing headers. F1 engines are not turbocharged. Maybe it's just during start-up.________________

Headers don't just glow when there is something wrong. Hell, cast iron manifolds will glow if you're on the power long enough. Imagine a truck pulling a trailer up a hill. That F1 engine is used to some more air flowing over it when it's turning those types of RPM. This will also explain why they are using pretty exotic metal for exhaust. I have been pulling a lot of video from the web, and many of the dyno videos show engines with glowing headers at the end of a run. That F1 engine is computer controlled, I highly doubt they are running it lean, or at least lean enough to damage it.

GREAT vid!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Considering the SUPER high rpm they are able to do the first part of the vid that thing is just above idle. They dont idle like a small block,yes the headers will glow like that if you are on the power long enough or under a load like BB69 said. BTW that is an ENGINE!!!! motors run on electricity!!!!!!

Believe it or not, that engine (the audio clip) is a 1953 BRM 1.5 V16 (supercharged). I've got clips from the cockpit (obviously not me) at speed. The video looks like an older BMW P82; but that's a s.w.a.g.

No vid of that BRM run; I was referring to the video you posted. I've been told there are some runs somewhere on a guy's site, but it doesn't come up when (I) Google it. I'll get it one of these days...
