      LS2 Coolant Crossover lines

Does anyone know if I would be able to put coolant block off plates on the front of the cylinder heads on my LS2 to get rid of the crossover lines. I notice the back of the heads have factory block offs on the crossover. I would like to do that to clean up the front of the motor if it won't hurt anything. The main reason is that there is a T on the drivers side head that used to go to the waterneck on the radiator and now I can't hook it up to anything. Needless to say the radiaitor is long gone.

I am not an expert but I do believe that is a steam vent and you need it. If you want to clean it up (or just don't have a spot on the radiator to route it to) you can do what the folks at Street & Performance do. S&P taps the top of the water pump and routes it there. Check out their website for more details. www.hotrodlane.cc

I really don't want to tap the pump I have the whole drive assembly on it. I'll check other options to see.

You do need it. It provides the vent/steam release to allow the engine to completely fill with water.

I did the water pump tap thing, and replaced the hoses with hard line.

I have seen a few on LS1tech that have a tap into the top radiator hose too. search over there for more info.

Thanks for the info. I tapped it into the water pump and it turned out fine after some light grinding on the fitting and the throttle body.
