      Floorpan paint

My car is back from getting new sheetmetal. The floorpans were in good shape and have some surface rust. After spending time with a wire wheel getting rid of that, what are you guys using to paint the floor prior to putting down dynamat/deadener?

Spectrum from second skin is what I used. The gallon bucket will do, you'll have a lot left over, so you can do multiple coats without a worry.

      Yes. They work together.

POR15 is what I have always used both interior and exterior it is amazingly durable. Dries to an extremely hard ceramic like coating and short of beating the s@#$ out of it with a hammer it will not come off.

I may go with Spectrum from Second Skin since they are vendors that support the board.

I used Duplicolor truck bed liner on mine first, then put down a few layers of sound deadening material and topped it with Second Skin Audio's Firewall and Spectrum liquid coatings. Then covered it with a foam material called Volara.
On the underside I tried Cascade Audio's version of a liquid sound deadener and actually prefer it to SSA's coating only because it goes on purple but dries black. Makes it much easier to see where your putting it.

I can smack the floor boards now and all you get is a small thud.
