Working with Copper

I'm going to make an EMI sheild for my distributor in hopes of curing an issue with my EZ-EFI. The material I'm looking at using is C101 copper in a half hard temper. My questions are how easy is it to bend and form? What thickness should I use? Is .032 to ok. Will it be too thin to keep its shape. I realy don't know how strong this tuff is.

Can I braze it with a plumber's torch and solder?

I'd use C110 Copper O60 annealed if you're going to be shaping it. You would have to anneal the half hard for shaping, and working it will harden it anyway. .032" should keep its shape just fine. Soldering should work fine for it as well. Good luck with your project.

You might look into copper screen. In the Navy we had a cage made from it for testing emergency radios. It worked really well. We could test the radios inside the cage and could not pick up the signals out side the cage.
