      Backspacing on 72 Pontiac LeMans

SC&C Stage 2 up front, factory rear end. Front disc brakes, rear factory drums Vari Shock single adj all way round with SPC sport springs...

245/35 or 40 up front (maybe 255) & rear will be 275/35 possibly 295/35 depending...

      18 x 8.5 wheel in front 5.5" offset

      18 x 9.5 wheel in rear 6" offset

      will that work?

or should I go with a 5" front offset & a 5.75" in the rear?

here is the wheel I'm looking at:

      Ok I've purchased:

18 x 8.5 with 5.5 bs front (back order from Summit)

      18 x 9.5 with 5.75 bs rear

      In a debate now...

Talking to Ponchopwr he says 18 x 8.5 with 4.75 on the front as that will not hit the front swaybar & that the 5.5" wheel will (he has a 70 lemans sport)

Roadbuster believes that 4.75 will give a more narrow looking wheel in the back than the front & should go with the 5.5 so the front won't look deeper than the rear. He owns a 68 GTO... He is also measuring his 17" wheels for me....

I GREATLY appreciate both guys for going ABOVE & BEYOND to help me out....

Anybody have thoughts on this issue?

your 5.75 bs will be perfect and you'll be able to run a large tire too.
