      Another ls1 question.

I have the front brake rotor and calipers off 2000 ws6 trans am.I can make the brackets.Cant get straight answer from the forums. What is difference in calipers?I thought ls1 brakes were 12" and corvette brakes were 13"?If they are the same caliper, then can i use 13" rotors on my trans am calipers?

The corvette calipers have stiffening heatsinks on the top of them that extend all the way to the front. They are cast different and I believe have slightly smaller pistons as opposed to the LS1 calipers. The LS1 rotors are the same thickness as the vette ones, which makes the calipers innerchangeable. The can be swapped back and forth, but you will have to have 2 different mounting brackets because the vette rotors are larger in circumfirence. The abbunctments for the vette and ls1 calipers are different, but you can use the ls1 one`s on the vette calipers.
