Higher on one side than the other
Here's the Q's, bought in 17's rims/tires, put them on and the car sits 1/2"-3/4" higher on the pass side than the driver side.. I've really never measured the car before until now... I put the vette conversion brakes on and cut 1 coil and the car is still off. The only think that I could think of is maybe its the SSM bars? Any comments would be great...

Doesn't make much sense--at least not in the way you described it. But you are on the right track. Start by checking for binding. Have someone bounce the back of the car up and down while you watch the leaf spring shackles to make sure they swing freely. More info would help as well. Are the leaf springs new? Subframe bushings? Maybe you have a severe corrosion problem with the subframe mounts?

The leaf springs ae about 6 years old. drag shocks in the rear and had the shackles loosened a bit and took it for a ride then tighten them back up.. Had drag shocks up front changed them with some shocks that I had laying around.. I was leaning tords the ssm bars because they are preloaded to one side, Leaf spring bushings were replaced last year..

When I had a ladder bar rear suspension and had the passeger side preloaded, that side of the car would sit about 3/4" higher. I'll place my bet on the preloaded SSM bars.

I used to have the SSM bars on my '68. If you are running 2 shims on the right side, and only 1 on the left (like they tell you to) that will do it. The SSM bars raised the rear of my car by at about an inch. I'd say remove 1 shim from the passenger side and see how it goes.

i had the same problem with my nova ... took it to an alignment shop and found that one side of the frame was mounted about 1/2 inch further back than the other ... you might wanna check that

I removed one of the driver side spacer and it was still off. It lowered the rear but raised the front a little. Might just take them off and see how it sits...

Hey guys,
I have the same situation on my 69 camaro. I was beginning to wonder if it was just my car. It sits about 1/2-3/4" higher on the passenger side in the front. I checked out for binding in the front with the sway bars and a-arms, but everything seems to be fine. I am out of ideas.

ps. My car is also plauged with this problem. It sits about 1/2" higher on the right front, and closer to 3/4" on right rear. I know that my car has been in some accidents before I bought it. The front subrame is tweaked for sure, and my body bushings have seen better days. Fortunately, I have a new C4 Wayne Due subframe in the garage waiting to be installed. After that, I will get the car on a frame machine at a body shop, check the alignment of the rear frame rails and get them pulled if need be.
