      Custom Dash install

I'm thinking about installing this dash into my 69 Bird. Don't quite know exactly where I need to start though...and I'm working backwards...the car's in the paintshop now, so I'll be installing after paint....any advice?

I come from a BMW background...

You'll need to measure the dash across & to the windshield. Start figuring out how to attach & brace it.

From there start figuring out steering columns, A/C venting & connections.

Are you gonna use the BMW gauges & steering wheel?

I plan on using Dakota Digitals in the BMW gauge housing. Steering rack possibly the 3series rack.

I had thought about doing that same swap at one time into a Corvair that I had. Dimensions were very similar. Ended up selling the car to a friend.

I know we have a few members that have changed dashes from a late model GTO into a first gen camaro

Im just about done installing a 04 GTO dash in my car. Start by measuring the new dash and distance between pillers. Take in to account what your going to do for door panels and where your steering column is. If everything looks like its going to fit. Take out the windshield, take everything out from under your dash and cut off the old dash. mock up everything even steering column. Dont forget the Glass. Make bracket that allow you to make small adjustments.
      Have fun and patients.

      Thanks Sunkist.
Looking at the measurements, I think I'll have more than an inch on both ends. Since I'll be making the door panels, they'll have to curve in a bit.
