Looks like your scooping out Jon's GTO, the Malice Malibu was a few cars down from there. It is so cool to get great coverage, Pro-Touring is a force to be taken seriously. Look at all the events that are adding a auto-X to a car show/drag race.

I finally scored my copies last night at Ralph's. Way to go everyone who made it in the mags and congrats to Bill and everyone else involved in putting that event together. I can't wait to do it again.

I picked up a copy and my ride is in there too!

Of course you can only see the roof section... way out in the background. I recognize the rust coming through the paint.

Seems like no one is ever interested in photos of 41 year old paint jobs.

hoping to correct that condition this summer.

Sure they are, patina is well-regarded now and sometimes even artificially reproduced. Good luck with the paint job. With regards to my car (gold Trans Am seen parked in the article) paint is probably one of the most/least rewarding things I have done to it. (I never intended to get paint so soon, but after a van hit my car, it only made sense.)

On the plus side, people see a shiny car and generally give it a lot of respect. The car got a mention in Popular Hot Rodding a year ago and was lucky enough to sneak into the Car Craft picture.

On the negative side, I'm always stressing over damage to the paint. Tall speed bump? Messed up the paint on the front ground effects. Drop a socket? Horrible obvious scratch on the driver door. Run at RTTC? Sand blasted rear ground effects. Tag a cone at an autocross? Paint chip on one of the rear ground effects. Give my sister's friend a ride? He opens the door wide open and smacks a wall and scratches the passenger door. My friends lean on the car like they did back in high school . . . they'd just better not.

The paint on my Trans Am makes me really appreciate the current beater status of my daily driver fox Mustang.

There's also a group shot showing a Mopar.. lol
