      Tire sizes for 68 Chevelle

      Running a 17x8 with 4.5 backspacing in the front and a 17x9 with 5 inch back spacing in the rear. What size tires should I go with. Its for a 68 chevelle

      1968 Chevelle 408 BBC,200 4r trans.
      1987 Buick Grand National all original
      1966 Chevy II Coupe 383 TCI Suspension
      1969 C10 Custom FS/SB Daily

      Hey SoCal! glad to see you turning wrenches again.
      I would suggest 245/45/17 and 275/40/17.
      They will have almost the same proportion of sidewall, and look about as fat. The rear looking maybe a hair fuller.
      They should also be right on for the spedometer.
      I recently used some BFG KDW2s and loved the tread pattern, but wanted bigger in the back and had to switch to a Nitto 555 (BFG stops at 275 on a 17"). I would recommend either.
      If you have deep pockets, the Michelin PS2 are one of the benchmark tires, but they wear faster, and co$t more.

      BTW: the BFG KDW2 run a little narrower than the Nitto 555.
