Quiet Electric Fuel Pump??

Does anyone have a recommendation for a quiet electric fuel pump for a carbureted engine? I'm running a zz430 and Holley 750. I've tried 3 different pumps.. Aeromotive StreetRod pump, BG Fuel Mighty Enduro, and a Holley.. each were just unbelievably annoying. Appreciate the help and recommendations..

The carter brand pumps are pretty quiet. They are ugly though but live along time on the street compared to the holley pumps.

Thanks LowBuck.. I saw them in the summit catalog as well as I have a friend that is using one... sounds like it might be an option.

Anyone have any other pumps they fell strongly about?

Checkout Edelbrocks new electric pumps, they state they are the most quiet in the industry due to military spec design in the manufacturing process. I just ordered one.

Some vibration damper might help since these pumps tend to vibrate and transmit the vibration through the body.

I'll look into the Edelbrock stuff.. as for the dampner.. I've got a sheet of Dynamat extreme stuck on the other side of the mount point..maybe I'll slap some under the car too..

Running a by-pass regulator will also quiet a pump substantially. Holley is also releasing a new Gerotor pump that will is kick ass and quiet.

You may want to look into Mallory Comp pumps too. Seem to be very quite too. I've had very good luck with Comp 140 pumps w/ BBC. They make several GPH pumps 70,110,140,250,500

Thanks for the advice.. I'm going to try a carter and see how it works.. I also have a dead-head (non-bypass) Aeromotive regulator that I'm going to trade out for a by-pass regulator. I'll let you guys know how it sounds when I'm done..

i have the old holley georotor pump with a bypass regulator and it is pretty damn quiet.

I've had Mallory's also and were very quiet... You definatly need to use some type of rubber bushings or grommets when attaching to the car. If done correctly any of the pumps mentioned will be quieter.

I installed the new Carter pump.. pretty quiet but not where I'd like it to be.. I still have the dead-head regulator so i've ordered a bypass unit to see if that quiets things down. Stay tuned asI'll post again when the job is done.. Thanks for all the help.

Should have tried the new Edelbrock...it is the quietest so far that I have used. Mallory 140's are next quietest and use the gerotor design just like the noisier Holleys. That has been my experience.

I just got the new Edelbrock pump in the version that doesn't need a regulator. Will not having a bypass style regulator affect how quiet the pump is? I thought using that pump would make the install easier, less parts and fittings.

Can anyone recommend a source for a dampening mount for an electric fuel pump? I looked on the web some and came up empty handed except for a unit from Aeromotive that I haven't been able to confirm the application of.

I've used these MSD-8823. They are the same mounts that are used on the MSD 6AL ignition boxes. Summit & Jegs sell them. I think part number MSD-8800 are a little larger and used for the 7AL-2 & 3's

how much off a bypass do you use one the Holley pump?
I have rubber mounts on three different places and it still sounds lika a chainsaw in the trunk. (It`s mounted under the trunk floor not in the trunk)
