      IndyCar rules ??

So , I'm watching the Indy 500 , and Davey Hamilton spins and goes down to the inside of the track , and hits the inside wall , and breaks one side of the front suspension.

Is it against the rules to take the car into the pits and replace the control arms and upright , and go back out on the track ????

They've got 500 miles to go..
The teams repair cars in NASCAR , and at the 24hrs of LeMans ..
      Why not Indy ??

I understand , there may be other problems with the car after an accident.
It may be cracked or bent , and not be safely competitive to return to the track..

But is it against the rules ???

Hey Jeff im watching too and was wondering the same thing..i suppose if you arent racing the whole series and going for championship points there is no reason too..not sure if hes running whole season or not..Nascar only does it for the points..

      Lotsa' pit lane drama !!!
With wheels coming off and all !!
Jeez! , I guess thes pit crew are under a lot of pressure ..
It's easy to get in a hurry and leave a wheel nut loose..

Formula 1 was using the KERS system , so I guess Indy had to follow suite with a power increasing system of their own...
Fomula 1 isn't using the KERS anymore , but having a power boost system maybe adds something new to the strategy , so fans stay interested ..??

I thought it was the best 500 in years. It was good to see Dario win after having the dominant car all day. Good driving and team work won the event rather than a lucky break. The Camaro pace cars were cool as well.

Totally agree...that last five laps we're tailor made for a drama-filled killer finish. Four in the chase, three wtih fuel issues. It woulda been a great sprint to the finish and PFFIT...it was anti-climactic!

I was impressed with Tony Kanaan too .
I was hoping Tony , Dario , and Helio would have a three way battle at the end..

      Congrats to Dario ..
