New possible engine combo
I didn't quite know where to post this, but I think this is the best place for it.
I have come across an engine combo dirt cheap at my local shop. Some guy hasn't payed for the engine, and they want to get rid of it.
A few things need to be done to it, but it has all the chromed out accessories (alternator, etc.). I don't know much about the internals at the moment, but when it is all said and done will probably have
-4 bolt 350 (may be a 400)
-Weiand 6-71 Polished blower
-A billet crank
-Aluminum Brodix heads
-Lunati cam
-Manley connecting rods
-Some good roller rockers
-Forged blower pistons
-Moroso oil pan
-Etc.
Its still missing the carbs, but I think we should be good for about 600hp on a very conservative tune.
Minus the carbs, ignition, etc. I can grab it for about $5500. I believe the crank is used, but everything else is new. Should I do it?
Also, does anyone have any pictures of a first-gen Camaro with a blower on it?
I don't know if it is the look I want to go with. I was going for something more to the tune of a sleeper. But it sure is a hell of a lot cheaper than building an engine with that same amount of horsepower from scratch. Centrifugals are nice, but I'm on a budget here (unfortunately
).
Thanks,
Max
