      Performance Online Tubular Control Arms??

So I was reading Popular Hot Rodding's article titled "Get Hooked Up, 44 Suspensions for Camaro & Nova" in the May issue.

Since I'm looking to buy a set I started visiting the different company's websites, and I get to Performance Online. They have a complete set of control arms for what seems "too" low of a price that, first I'm tempted to save the money, but secondly and more importantly makes me nervous about what you are actually getting for that price.

      Here's the link : http://www.performanceonline.com/sto...cat=932&page=1

Anybody currently using these arms? Or buy from this company?

I thought I read something on this forum or Lateral g, about some cheap ebay knock offs of DSE's product, I just don't want to be buying that.

      From the link:
"These tubular control arms are a must when running power steering. Sold in pairs. Note: Will not work with vehicles equipped with drum brakes. Some modifications may be required! "

Personally, I would stay away. Why are the control arms a must with power steering? Modifications? Also, maybe I missed it, but I did not see where they specify bushing type; del-rin, poly, rubber? If it's too good to be true, it usually is.....

**edit** I missed that they specified del-rin for the bushings. Still, it just does not feel right....know what I mean?

I glad I'm not the only one thinking somethings too good to be true.

When I talked to a Sale Rep, he told me they are high quality units made here locally (CA.) He told me this because I asked if they were importing them.
When I questioned him about the low "sale" price, he said that they had negotiated that deal with the supplier and it was such a good price because of the volume the supplier was selling.

Think I better keep shopping 'round.

I was looking through the site a little more and found some other familiar stuff. It looks like they are selling some Heidts products too. I've also seen those control arms on e-bay for around the same price. I bet it's the same manufacturer. I like saving money as much as anyone else, but I just don't think it's worth messing with the possibility of a sub-standard product. I ended up getting Global west uppers for my car and sticking with the stock lowers (upgraded bushings, of course).

Found them, they're even cheaper on ebay. They have 6 negatives, 4 neutrals just in the past month.

They`re sold under a lot of different names, another is Helix. All made in the same factory in China. If you get what you pay for (and you always do) then you aren`t getting much. Mark SC&C
