Dog was almost gator-bait

My dog got loose this morning, and she ran over to the pond next to our house. Normally when she gets loose, she comes to the front door to be let in, but this time she wanted to play some.



I was working my way around behind her to try and herd her back to the house where my wife waited with a doggy-treat. I could see her digging at the edge of the pond... and then I saw a gator's wake and then the gator itself making a beeline for my 42 lb. clueless cutie. I yelled at her and the gator went under and then veered off. We eventually coaxed her back inside.

She has no idea she was almost gator-bait.

Florida wildlife. It's primitive.
