      BFG KDW Discontinued?

I've been shopping around trying to get a set of BFG KDW's in 275 40 17, and everyone around says they're out of stock or discontinued...WTH? Is it just that size or the style all together?

Apparently the KDW2 is the "new" version. seems all the ratings are the same, so I dunno. That's what I ended up with.

tooling up for the Costa Mesa Goodguys event I see. The only difference between the KDW and the KDW2 that I know of is the tread pattern. That and the KDW2 is available in many more sizes.

I think KDW2's are what most people are talking about when referring to the KDW. They're also known as KDW-NT and are the ones with the flame pattern tread. The original KDW's are a more conventional appearing tread design. Kinda confusing though since you'd think that the shops selling them would just point the buyer to the "new" version.

The KDW2 stops at 275 in a 17", but has wider sizes in an 18".
Also, the KDW2 runs true to the measurement, and since they have rounded shoulders may appear narrower. IMO

For example, here are BFG KDW NT on the left, BFG Comp VR4 on the right
      245/45/17 275/40/17 vs 245/50/16, 255/50/16
The front wheels are 17x8 vs 16x8, rears are 17x9.5 vs 16x8

Here is another comparo: BFG KDW NT 245/45/17 vs BFG Radial TA 225/60/15, REALLY close match
