Malibu wagon tire and wheel question

I hope someone out there can steer me in the right direction about this. Im looking to buy a 78-83 Malibu wagon. Ive actually found one and Im hoping the deal goes through. I should know by the end of next week. I want to buy tires and wheels for the car as soon as I get it. Im looking to give it the pro tour look. I want to buy directional tires, maybe 16" or 17" rims. Im just not sure what will fit. The cars got a 2" drop front and rear. I thought about 16" wheels but it seems like theyre becoming a thing of the past. Most of the wheels out there are 17s or bigger. Im thinking about buying something from Billet Specialties or Intro. Can anyone give me any advice ? Or maybe post a picture of their wagon and wheel sizes ? Thanks

FWIW, I'd go 17's so that you have better tire options and brake choices if you ever choose to go that route. My opinion stands regardless of the application unless you're looking to go era correct on your ride.

My wife's G-body wagon is running 18's all around. We went with 225/40's in the front and 245/40 in the rear. Now it doesn't have the engine in it yet so we aren't sure how low it wil be but I think we will lower the rear 2 inches. I am pretty sure we could fit 265's in the rear but not sure how much bigger we could go in the front.

I would suggest going with at least a 17" diameter to allow yourself to have a larger selection of tires available. The tire selection is mostly driven by what new cars have on them, of which most have 17" or larger diameter. If there's a particular Intro style that catches your eye just shoot me a PM and I can get you a price quote or answer any other questions that you might have.

Im liking the classic twisted or just the plain classic but I think the shipping costs from CA to NY would be big $$. I would still like to see a wagon with the type of tires and wheels on it so I at least get an idea of how it will look.

Thanks for the offer but I still want to see some pictures of wagons so I can get a good idea of how it will look. Guess there arent many wagons out there with this setup. I guess I can always throw a set of Draglites on it.
