      wiper relocation arm extetion question..help

Ok guys I searched the archives and couldn't find the info I was looking for, I already have the stock wiper motor mounted and was wondering if there are any tips or tricks I should be aware of before I get started on the arm extension.
Do I want to use hiem joint where the old and new connect or should it be a solid connection..? Any tips and pics or links on this part of the mod would be greatly appreciated.

Are you installing it behind the drivers side fender?

Just cut the old rod and use something just as strong or stronger to lengthen it. You'll have to make it arch a little to clear the bottom of the inside of the cowling.

you can cut and weld 3/8" threaded rod (one left handed) to your old linkage ends and use http://colemanracing.com/store/shopexd.asp?id=892 to connect the two.

I was looking at an early riveria the other day (65-67 roughly). Factory location for the wiper motor was under the driver side fender. If you can find one to look at or even rob the parts off of could make relocating it there much easier.

Just cut out your old mounting ring and re weld it behind the fenders where the X is located. This is what I did a few years ago.

Then cut the end of the rod off and extend it over to your new location. It's pretty easy. Then use a piece of metal to patch your open hold with.
